Solenn Le Tutour spoke in a panel on class actions in Europe about how French law has enacted the Directive on representative actions. France is an opt-out system, requires that the class action be started by a registered association. Interestingly French law created a civil fine and a fund dedicated to finance class actions and financed by this fine and by penalties.
She spoke with other EU lawyers before mostly UK lawyers acting as claimants and defendants of class actions.
